PalCal is a shared calendar for friend groups. It includes social features — group chat, comments, photos and invitations — and we take our responsibility to keep those features free of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) seriously.
This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child sexual abuse and exploitation, how to report a concern to us, and how we respond.
We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation of any kind on PalCal. This includes, without limitation:
There is no warning and no second chance for this category of violation. Accounts found engaging in it are removed permanently.
PalCal is not intended for children under 13, and accounts may not be created by them. Where we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 13, we remove it and delete the associated data.
Anyone — whether or not they use PalCal — can report suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation to us directly:
Child safety point of contact
Please include enough detail for us to locate the content — the calendar or group name, the approximate date and time, and the account involved. Do not attach suspected CSAM to your report; describing where it appears is sufficient, and forwarding such material may itself be unlawful.
Reports concerning child safety are treated as our highest priority and are reviewed ahead of all other reports.
When we receive a report, or otherwise become aware of a potential violation:
PalCal is built around small, private, invitation-only groups rather than a public social feed. There is no public discovery, no stranger-to-stranger messaging, and no public profile browsing: a person can only reach a group's content after being invited with a code by an existing member and approved by that group. This design substantially limits the exposure that makes grooming and unsolicited contact possible.
User-submitted text is additionally subject to automated content validation before it is accepted.
We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where PalCal is available, including obligations to report to the relevant national authorities. We also comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines regarding objectionable content.
